ALABAMA TO TENNESSEE

Birmingham May 23-24

We left Destin April 23 and made our annual stopover in Birmingham to visit with our friends Suzanne and Ray.  Got a bonus treat when their precious grandchildren, Reeves and Wilson, entertained us at dinner.  Wilson seemed fascinated with the tour of our coach and was heard to say, “move that bus”, which brought a tickle to Frank!

Suzanne and I didn’t get to paint this trip…I’m still waiting on my palm tree painting, Suzanne!  We did get lunch in and some shopping during our two night stay.  Always lots of fun for us to get to spend some time together!

Murfreesboro May 25- June 19

It was on to Murfreesboro for lots of family time and friend time. We planned on being there for a longer visit so we didn’t have to rush our time getting to see everyone.  It was also going to be a time for planning and celebrating “the big one”…my 60th birthday!!

We got in golf with Betsy and Smitty, dinner with Gerry and Steve; another dinner with Carol and Gregg; dinner and golf with the Shorts; lunches with my best classmate buds; shopping, happy hours, and grandchildren with BF Sherry; lots of pool time at my Sis’s house; an afternoon visit with Shannon and her sweet family at their new house, and of course lots of visits with my Mom! It was a whirlwind month and we loved every minute!!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN 2010

Thought I would take a little time to do some catching up on the travel blog for 2010...even if I did say I was only going to post on Facebook!  So far, we have spent time in Destin, Birmingham, Murfreesboro, Cave City, Brighton, and now we are spending the month of July in Traverse City, Michigan.

DESTIN, FL  April 25-May22

We started the trip April 21, landed at Lazydays for some shade and windshield work, then made our way over to Destin for our month stay at the beach.  Luckily, we were there when the oil had not made it’s way to the white sands of the Emerald Coast.  It’s such an environmental tragedy that has destroyed the way of life of so many people who live along the coast.  We pray that the oil is contained, the beaches and coastline cleaned up, and people can get back to once again making their living in the beautiful Gulf waters!

During our stay, we got to visit with lots of friends…Marvin and Dawn came for two weeks, Judy and Ernest live in Destin, and later in the month, Bill and Cyndi made their way from Georgia for a week’s stay.  Also I had great lunch with Virginia B., a friend from M’Boro, and found an old Smyrna friend in Navarre, Burt N., who was running Dippin' Dots!  Lots of good times, good food, and lots of beach time during our month there!  Destin and Topsail is always a favorite stop for us…we are already booked for 2011!!

Just a note to let my blog followers know that I have been posting quips and pictures of our trip this year on Facebook.  If you aren't a Facebook user and would like to see what's going on, just sign up and get yourself an account, and become my friend.  It's fun and easy to use!! If I have you on my email list, then I won't be hard to find!


This doesn't mean I will never write another blog entry, but Facebook just takes less time.  Many of the places we are traveling to this year are places we have been before and I have already written about them.  Facebook takes a lot less time to use and publish information on.  My picture albums are always there to browse...so take a look!
