MAINLY IN MAINE

August 5-13
The nicest thing about our trip this year is that we have been able to see so many of our friends along the way. While in the Scarborough, Maine area we were able to visit with Bob and Jean…friends from Florida who live in our Sabal community. They live in Old Orchard Beach six months of the year. Their condo cottage is in a great little community that puts them right in the middle of just about everything…beach, shopping, dining, golf, lakes, mountains, and close enough to Portland to provide bigger city necessities when needed. It is the their perfect place!

Not only did we get to visit with them, but Jean’s sister, Lois, lives right down the street in the same complex. Lois also maintains a lake house within an hour’s drive and provides the family with those little extra get-away weekends! It was so great to see her and get to visit with her, too!

Then to put icing on the cake, Jean’s daughter, Carolyn, and her family, Dee, and the two children, Lily and Quinn, were in from Oregon for the entire month of August. We hit the jackpot and got to visit with everyone!
THE FAMILY...ALL ABOARD!!

Besides our daily outings to surrounding areas, we were thoroughly entertained by this lively bunch. Scrumptious dinners were prepared by Jean and Bob; we dined out at Jonathan’s By the Sea…wonderful gourmet restaurant…more mussels, please!!! We even got over to Portland for our traditional Maine breakfast at Becky’s!
DINING WITH THE CLAN...WHAT A TREAT
OUR FAVORITE BREAKFAST PLACE IN MAINE...BECKY'S DINER IN PORTLAND

One afternoon, everyone came to the campground, and Frank and I cooked while the girls took the children swimming and made use of the many facilities the campground offered for children. Jean and Bob later joined us for Margaritas, grilled Brats, and Smores around the campfire!
ROUGHING IT AT THE CAMPGROUND

We really enjoyed being able to spend lots of time with everyone, but especially with Lily and Quinn…they are just two smart little cutie pies; you just never know what can happen with those two around…“Out of the mouths of Babes”!!
THANKS BUMPA AND GRAMMY FOR LETTING US HAVE SHARE TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY!! WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!
