Beaches Down the Eastern Seaboard

We are almost home…today is October 19, 2009; we will be staying in Tampa at Lazydays for at least two nights before traveling on to Ft. Myers. We always make it our last stop to do some clean up on the coach and also check in with service to have some things repaired or at least make an appointment for a future date. So, guess I better finish up the travel blog; there is still the beach trip down the Eastern Shore…Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Charleston…to write about!

Virginia Beach, September 18-22
We always love the stop in Virginia Beach. Several years ago we found a great RV park on General Booth Blvd. It’s a Holiday Travel Park, but they have these terrific super sites! The park also has its own parking at the beach and that is very convenient! We love to go to the beach and walk the boardwalk there; it is one of the best beach walking or bike riding areas we have found! This year we missed the Neptune Festival…they were preparing for it the weekend after we left for Myrtle.

I have a friend who lives in Chesapeake and when we are there we always get together. This visit Kim brought her two sons over for a cookout. I thought Ian and Arrick would be totally bored with us, but actually they turned out to be very entertaining and I think they enjoyed our time together! Always good to see boys grow up to be nice young men! Kim you should be proud. John, too! We didn’t get to see John this time…he was at sea.
CAMPGROUND VISITORS
We also got to see Dallas and Mike again. This is the couple we met in Vermont, then met up again in Lake George and for the last time, here in VA Beach...then we parted ways. They were off to their home in the North Carolina mountains. Hope to see them this winter since they will be wintering in Jacksonville.
While at VA Beach, we made a Sunday drive to Richmond to see my cousin, Sissy, and visit with her family…husband Craig, daughter Caroline, her two cutie pies, Lucy Grace and Lane; Daughter Amanda brought over her new baby, James Thomas. It was so good to see them! Sissy and Craig grilled some fabulous Alaskan Salmon that Craig had recently caught on his fishing trip there. We had a special time visiting with everyone! Hope we see them again soon!
